Ford Flex and MNKT to Exist Until 2014?

After Ford has unveiled its 2011 Explorer, the car maker is trying to determine the future of its Lincoln MKT as well as Flex cars.

It was revealed by the company that the Explorer is able to cannibalize the sales of Flex. As matter of fact, neither the MKT nor the Flex showed good sales.

According to a report made by Detroit, one can expect that both models can expire until 2014. It is expected that the company will make one more mid-cycle refresh. It will happen in the next 18 months. But it should be said that it will probably the company’s last model.

It is planned that Lincoln product will combine the attributes of the Navigator as well as the MKY into a single lineup. Bit it should be admitted that Lincoln will have to significantly differentiate its new large crossover away from the Ford’s sibling.
