HTC, the Taiwan-based handset maker, has will release its 3G-enabled smartphone in the Indian market after an exclusive partnership with cellular operator Reliance Communications. The phone is called HTC Wildfire. For the Indian consumers, its price is fixed at 16,590.
It is a new Android phone and will be available in India at authorized HTC resellers across the country. Android is a popular operating system for mobile devices like cellular phones, tablet computers and netbooks. HTC India Country Head Ajay Sharma said,” The stylishly designed HTC Wildfire… brings all your communication requirements into one place, whether it’s through Facebook, Orkut, Twitter, Flickr…,” HTC is a leading smartphones manufacturer. The phone is powered by Google Android and Windows Mobile operating systems.
500 MB of free data usage for a period six months will be offered to the customers of. Reliance Communications (RCOM) GSM for upgrading to this new phone. The phone has a 3.2″ touch screen and a 5-megapixel camera.
RCOM President (Marketing-Wireless Business) Mahesh Prasad said, “The launch of HTC Wildfire is in line with our strategy to offer next-generation service on mobile phones enabled with superior voice quality, high speed wireless data network access.’’ The phone is within buying reach of middle class Indians who want to have a new handset that runs on Android operating system.
