Google makes Gmail more user-friendly with better contacts management

August 12, 2010

Google’s Gmail gets a new avatar where Mail, Contacts and Tasks are together clubbed on the top left corner. Users can hide the Contacts and Tasks option by clicking on the right edge of the Mail option. Compose Mail now appears as a button rather than a link. The header area has been skimmed so that first email appears high on the screen.

You can sort the contacts now by First or Last name. Gmail will now auto-save the changes made while editing the contacts and you can also undo the changes saved. The contacts can also be arranged in groups by hitting Merge after selecting them.
