August 5, 2010

Reliance Communications (RCOM) has scheduled to launch 3G services by this year-end or early next year.

Reliance Communications’ President, Mahesh Prasad said, “We expect that the Government will allocate spectrum by September, following which we will start the roll-out by year-end or early next year.”

RCOM has been sanctioned to offer its 3G services in 13 key circles that include Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

Prasad added, “It’s premature to talk about the services offered under 3G.”

RCOM also revealed its collaboration with the world’s ace music company, Universal Music aimed at offering Universal Music’s catalogue for its GSM, CDMA, 3G and mobile broad-band subscribers.
